DAVID HICKEY

Elder and Senior Pastor

I was born and raised forty miles down the road in Longview, Texas. My wife LuAnn and I grew up in the same community, attending the same schools and the same church. I gave my life to the Lord at ten years of age, and developed a love of reading early in my life.

I felt His call to be a pastor as a teenager, and used my college (East Texas Baptist University) and seminary (Southwestern Baptist Seminary) days to prepare for the church ministry. I also married the love of my life, and we share this adventure together. Along the way came five children and now after forty years of marriage, we have sixteen grandchildren. I have considered it a privilege to have served as pastor of CCF for sixteen years.

Scripture: Heb. 12:1-3 (NASB) – Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
