I was born in Big Lake, Texas, and my family moved around frequently until I was in second grade. From that point until I graduated high school we called Stanton, TX our home. My family was very involved in our church, in our community, and also volunteered at Circle Six Ranch Baptist Camp outside of town. Two things that were ingrained throughout my childhood were respect for others and the value of hard work. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and was baptized at nine years old. I went forward and surrendered my life to the ministry when I was sixteen years old and began a mentorship with my youth pastor. He allowed me to teach on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings to my peers and then helped me improve my study and speaking skills. I met Christin that same year, 2005, while working at Circle Six as summer staffers, we began dating at the end of the summer, and we were married in 2008. We have three daughters, Anslee (14), Aislyn (10), and Ashlyn (8). We have now been involved in youth or camp ministry in some way for more than sixteen years.
We have a calling and a passion to minister to young people and create disciples for Christ. Our goal is to do everything we can to push them closer to Jesus, encourage them to own their faith, and have their identity grounded in Christ.
I enjoy spending time with my family, fly fishing when visiting a mountain stream, and taking jeep trails in the mountains. My favorite verse is Ephesians 4:1, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”
