Workshop: Beyond Basic 1st Aid

Event Description

This a trauma-focused workshop that picks up where the Basic 1^st Aid leaves off – starting with trauma site safety and progressing through triage to treatment.  Bleeding, broken bones, breathing and shock are the primary topics of discussion.  The main objective of this workshop is appropriately treating the patient until EMS arrives. This workshop has an ‘optional’ practicum where students practice all of the principles of the Beyond Basic Workshop at no additional cost.  Completion of the Basic 1^st Aid Workshop is required.
