OCTOBER 5th & 6th DOWNTOWN TYLER, TEXAS
CityFest East Texas will be a two-day event from the afternoon into the evening. The festival will kick off with a Family Fun Zone and Actions Sport’s zone. The Family Fun Zone will have inflatables, face painting, Gospel bracelets, and a Kid’s Stage. On the Kid’s Stage will be a variety of entertainment – from dancing to magicians. The Gospel will be presented by ventriloquist, Mark Thompson. Action Sports will have both FMX and BMX demonstrations by The Stunt Dudes. Halfway through their program, a biker will give their testimony with a chance to respond to the Gospel.
The main stage program begins in the evening. We typically have two performers amidst testimonies and CityFest recap. Then Andrew Palau gives a message of hope with a chance to respond. Following Andrew will be a headline artist like Toby Mac or Hillsong. Festival Friends will be at all areas to collect information that can be passed on to local pastors to allow responders to get plugged into churches. facebook_account

FESTIVAL FRIEND TRAINING AT CCF
CityFest is a two day event full of fun for the kids, music and a message of Hope. Please pray that many people will to come to know the Lord during the festival on October 5th & 6th. For more information about CityFest click HERE.
After the gospel message is presented, there will be those who respond. A Festival Friend is one who interacts with them, completes the response card and offers to pray with them. That is where you come in. We’d like for you to become a Festival Friend! In order to participate as a Festival Friend you will need to complete training and then register.
CCF is one of several churches hosting a Festival Friend Training Class. Join us on at the training class on Thursday, September 12th at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Together we can reach the world for Jesus Christ!
SEPTEMBER OUTREACH FOCUS: BECOME A MENTOR
Children all across the United States, and specifically in East Texas, live in broken homes. These sometimes-stressful conditions affect even the best single mother or father. Academic success, character development, emotional stability are all key areas that can be reduced when one parent isn’t in the life of a child.
Here are some sobering facts:
Nationally, 25 million (33%) of children go to bed every night without knowing who or where their father is.
In Smith County, only 20% of students continue to higher education.
75% of TISD is considered economically disadvantaged
65% of TISD is considered at-risk.
We have a great opportunity to impact the current and future generation in the name of Jesus.
Some goals of this team include:
To show the local church that these at-risk children and schools are literally in our backyard, and increase the general understanding of responsibility of local believers.
To host regular forums with local pastors and church staff to set up dates so Gospel Village can promote and train the congregation. One mentor from all the churches signed up could double our caseload!
